Jason Scherer Qualifies Second At The King Of The Hammers Ultra-4 Stampede held in Reno, Nevada

Performance Automotive Group supported Jason Scherer at the King Of The Hammers Ultra4 Stampede in Reno Sept 8-12th. Scherer qualified second in the 52 car field and held that position throughout the race. Unfortunately a faulty oil seal led to a broken ring and pinion and ended Scherer's race earlier than expected. "Letting down the team and sponsors like Performance Automotive Group and BFGoodrich tires is the hardest part to deal with," Scherer said. "This type of race is hard on every vehicle and team member," says Tony Morse from PAG. "But we are happy to be there to support a great competitor like Scherer, and be among hardcore off-road enthusiasts who love this sport and our products."
PAG's Project Jeep JK features
many of the company's products,
including the new Jeep JK bumper
that allows for maximum tire clearance
and is made from 3/16-thick steel plate

PAG also displayed its Project '07 Jeep at the event, which was sporting the new OR-Fab line of front bumpers for the Jeep JK. The bumpers feature square-cut ends for greater tire clearance, and are made from 3/16-inch steel plate. They feature reinforced 3/4-inch D-ring mounts, that are welded to a 1/4-inch steel plate. The plate is then bolted inside the bumper to prevent any distortion under heavy-duty use.

Scherer and King Of The Hammer's Promoter Dave Cole, recently won their division at the Vegas-to-Reno off-road race in August. As Scherer prepares for the next race, both he and PAG continue a common effort to advocate for land-use issues with ORBA, promoting and preserving off-road recreation.
